I’ve got a trade in credit at a radio store and I’m trying to decide whether to get the 536hp or the 200. I could pay $250 and get the 536 or $350 and get the 200. Will be used as a base station. Any suggestions? No simulcast in my county, but there are a couple in neighboring ones that I monitor sometimes.

For $100, I would go with the SDS200.

I would also opt for the SDS200. While you may not have simulcast in your home county at this time, a future system upgrade might add that to the situation. And monitoring the neighboring systems, which are simulcast, will be more reliable with the 200.

I agree with the above posts about going with the 200 especially if you can afford the additional $100. In addition to the possibility of future simulcast issues, the 200 has a bigger screen.

For the difference in proce, get the SDS-200.
Maybe also see how much the SDS-150 would be, it is the "best of the best" at the moment.
