I have no doubt. It costs money and electricity to produce all those "G's". Think of all the additional base stations and the power to run them and keep them cooled.

So much for the planet.

But hey I can download a movie in 30 seconds and watch it on a tiny screen with tinny speakers while being presented with non stop adverts for pharmaceuticals . Meanwhile the movie theaters are going out of business.

yes it is true because they are using more carriers to give you the wide bandwidth. each carrier runs say 20 watts RF out the antenna port, if they are doing 3 carrier aggregation then you have 60 watts RF power which takes at least 3x the electrical power to produce.
