6.649 USB-"Atlantico Radio"

I am hearing various aircraft calling "Atlantico Radio" with postition reports then SELCAL. Does anyone know where "Atlantico Radio" is located??? I'm asuming im receiving this from the Carribean or Atlantic? maybe. I've hear mostly English but also Spanish is heard. Maybe the Spanish is calling another station. Interesting aeronautical frequency.

hey thanks for the info, you probably get similar signals as I do here in Los Angeles. I have my dipole oriented to to get stronger signals from an east west direction. This is a tough frequency to get from our location. I mostly hear the aircraft and can hear the SELCAL. Are there any interesting frequencies that you have discovered from your monitoring station in S. F. What is your setup????

Whatsup buddy-my HF rigs are in my sig and I PMd you the antenna setup so as not to upset the purists here I have gotten tons of stuff as you can see in past threads here-I am eastwest oriented too. I must be too far north to get your catch though. But only 500 miles so you definately caught a good one IMO

Atlantico is Recife, Brasil. During the overnight hours you may also hear Lima, Mexico Radio and a few others.
For another busy frequency in that area plug in 5526. It often comes in good here in SoCal. Ground stations are Piarco and Cayenne.

Thanks for the info Brando, Yes!!!!!! I heard an aircraft call "Lima Radio" on the same frequency. Nice to hear signals from that part of the world.
