I thought the advantage of 5G meant the use of higher freqs. Can 600 MHZ 5G be comparable to higher? The fact that T-Moblile is bragging about its 600 MHZ network looks to me like they are trying to advertise their way out from behind the 8 ball.

The 5G is a suite of different modulation rate standards and bandwidths. at 600 MHz, the bandwidth and throughput will be significantly less than at the microwave bands. However, the signal can propagate much further at 600 MHz. The buying public will be confused and enticed about this 5G thing. And no, 5G is not radioactive (someone will ask).

I am still using my 2006 vintage Motorola Razr V3M on Verizon AND I LIKE IT!

propagation of 600MHz is much different than higher microwave bands. Like the difference between VHF and 800MHz in LMR. Modulation/codec aren't really a factor. T-Mobile is "excited" because they have a nationwide license on valuable "low band" spectrum and they can play with the "big boys" now: VZW and AT&T.
