EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -

Several vehicles, including a Colorado Springs Police vehicle, were hit during a high speed chase that started in Limon and ended at Highway 24 and Marksheffel Road.

Colorado Springs Police say that the chase began when a Limon Police officer tried to pull over a car that is being described as a green Mercury. Instead of pulling over, police say the driver sped off and the chase was on.

Several vehicles were reportedly hit and damaged during the 65 mile chase, during which speeds reached 110 miles per hour at times according to scanner traffic. A passenger in one of the vehicles that was hit was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police say that at one point during the chase, the car was driving on its right front rim after hitting spike strips. The driver crashed into a median barrier when he tried to turn at Marksheffel.

Police tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 that one person has been arrested. That person was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but is not believed to be hurt. The man is facing numerous charges.

The suspect's name has not been released.
