Scanning the 700 MHz band tonight with my PSR-500 seeing if anything new is around. Down in the lower part 764-770 or so, hear a bunch of strong digital stations that aren't decoding (hearing via FM).
Got up to the 790's and hearing what is ARMER traffic. Found a solid control channel at 791.9375. System 40F, WACN BEE07, R-002, S-001.
So, that would be East Hennepin. I listened to the known control channel for it at 852.3625 and it had the same data.
Figuring it was an image, did some math. 852.3625 - 791.9375 = 60.425. That doesn't sound right for an image, but... maybe.
Tuned around more at the high end and found a few P25 voice freqs from 40F.
792.2375
792.2625
793.0875
793.9875
Found two others that were weaker (I'm near the 2-001 site).
794.0625 but said it was with system 400
791.4375 said it was with system 409
Even thought I heard a weak FM (definitely FM, not P25) transmission at 793.5625. It was too weak and too short to identify anything but that it was a guy.
Almost all of the traffic on those P25 channels were far too short to be able to find the other frequency with only one scanner. Luckily, there was a fire dispatch transmission and that gave plenty of time. Heard it initially on 792.0625 then found it over on 852.6375.
But, the difference in these freqs are 60.575, not 60.425, which means I'm not listening to an image.
So unless I messed up, it appears something is going on at 790MHz. FCC DB has no info on these freqs.
Testing perhaps? Anyone else in the NW metro hear anything in the 790's?
