700 MHz REBANDING AND THE PSR-500/600 SERIES GRECOM SCANNERS
Posted By: GRE Support Team On: 06 May 2008 12:57 PM
Details Information regarding the FCC's new 700 MHz band plan and the PSR-500/600 scanning receivers.

The 700 MHz band plan that is included in the current design of the PSR-500/600 reflects the official USA 700 MHz channel plan that was in existence when the PSR-500/600 were designed and released to the public. The FCC has since "rebanded" 700 MHz, and some of the frequencies in the new 700 MHz public safety band plan cannot be received by the PSR-500/600 scanners. For more information, please see:

http://www.fcc.gov/pshs/public-safety-spectrum/700-MHz/safetyband.html

GRE has new firmware in testing now that addresses the FCC's 700 MHz changes and allows reception of frequencies that are in the old and new 700 MHz band plans. This change may require that we obtain a new or amended FCC type acceptance for these models. We are investigating this now with our FCC type acceptance testing lab. Please stay tuned to our support site for updates!
