On Thursday 11-21-2019, portable radios were distributed to BCSO and BCFD for coverage testing. BCSO is testing East Sector units. BCSO testing is on Event 2 (TG132) and BCFD testing is on Event 1 (TG131). Yep, some coverage issues.

(With all the traffic re: the 700MHz system, shouldn't this become a sticky?)

I think they might be doing more than coverage testings. Sounds like live dispatch radio traffic. I did hear some radio checks but now sounding like regular dispatch traffic with units and dispatchers.

I have also been hearing some radio testing on TG 14002. Not sure who this is just been saying testing.

All testing for most part for users/dispactchers to log/report back while techs watch etc. Most the initial testing people missed.

Portables were issued out across the 700 sites for further field use and testing for DoItt, SP, state parole and corrections. Will vary where you are who's playing with what.

SP cruces was handed out uhf APX 4000s, 8000s. 8000s do have 700 talk groups in them outside the uhf pac zone, some are running encryption testing the pacs with it for uhf end.

Makes and models vary and they work.

All I can say on it.

I was passing through Carlsbad today and noticed the state deployable site came in range. So started scanning hoping to catch some traffic heard what sounding like L.E and testing on TG 8 and 9. Also a LOT of encrypted traffic on TG 11, 150, and 151. Was very active while I was there. Maybe an opp or some testing not sure. Lost the site near Brantley Lake.
