what activity is on the 700mhz and 300mhz bands that the BCD396T is able to get that radio shack's scanners can't get? what are we missing? i thought the government was is on the 700 frequencies. ron
A portion of the 700 MHz band will be used for public safety trunking systems. Right now, there are no systems up and running, or else only a very few in planning or design stages.
The 380-400 MHz band is now being used by the federal government for trunked systems. AFAIK, the BCD396T is currently the only scanner that will trunk in these frequency ranges.
