Nice radio .. I have an R71A as well, though I have never used it.
I know weird, but it was an awesome receiver when I first got my ham license in about 1986 so I wanted one.
When I had the chance (many years later), I decided that I just had to do it. I should hook up my antenna up to it and see how it works.
I use my Yaesu FT-450 these days on 20 Meters, so that's where you would find me.
