If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi folks,
I got a PMMN4096B Bluetooth mix for my 7550e. It works great except for one little annoying thing, when I push to talk the end of bleep sound bleeds through and it can be hard on other radios.
Asking to see if anyone has had this issue and have any ideas on how to fix it.
I'm wondering if I need to update the firmware on the Bluetooth mic and if that's the case, had anyone have a link I can grab the latest update from?

I would try adjusting the Voice Pretime Duration. The default value is normally 0ms but setting it to 60ms or 120ms might delay the opening of the mic enough to miss the end of the TPT.

Are you in a relatively quiet room with walls or the ceiling somewhat close by? If the volume is turned up a good bit you could actually be catching the TPT echo when your mic opens. I've seen it many times so give what Floridarailfanning suggested a try.

I have heard this happen when communicating with someone who claimed to be using a Bluetooth microphone and a Motorola radio on a SoCal analog amateur repeater system. Unless that was you, you aren't the only one.
It wasn't me, I'm in the Midwest. But looks like I'm not the only one with this issue.

I've only ever seen it when in an environment where the TPT can echo off nearby surfaces and get into the open mic. If it's consistently happening in all noise environments, then I'm not sure. Does it happen when you don't use the Bluetooth mic?

Only when I use the Bluetooth mic. But I did notice that it happens when there's another radio on the same frequency. I think it picks up the reverb and stops right away. It's pretty sensitive.

I've searched how to do it but I'm unable to reach that setting.

The top one is display settings on XPR 7550e. I've looked on every setting in the radio and I'm unable to find it.

Ok. I up'd the voice prime duration to 240 and still heart that bleed trough. I did program one of the buttons to remove all tones on/off and when it's off there's no sound to bleed through.

Have you tried talking to your dealer/radio shop or the TRBO subscriber tech support team? Without getting my hands on it or witnessing the behavior in your particular environment, I'm not sure what else to recommend at this point.

Can CPS read the Bluetooth mic and change settings on it?

Just a shot in the dark, but its likely caused by delay in the BT encoding/decoding between the microphone and the radio who's delay time is such that the TPT component extends past the voice prime duration interval. What else could it be? Question: Is the a Motorola BT or an aftermarket product? Are they any settings in the microphone to reduce buffering that might shorten any inherent delay?
