Searching the 700mHz band I've come across this using DSD+ on 764.23125.

It is very weak signal here. So much so my Pro-197 wont even decode it. It just so happens that DSD+ decodes it better or at least enought to see what it is. 2A0 is TACN but I cant find it in the FCC database or in the CAPRAD database.

Will some of you fellow scanerists tune in and see if you can receive it and note the signal? Maybe we can figure out where it is coming from. I imagine it could be anywhere from Johnson Co back over towards Roane Co and anywhere in between.

You sure that's not 769.23125? 764 is broadband public safety spectrum so shouldn't be voice comms.

Yes Im sure. I thought the same thing. Thats what my scanner is stopping on and also I can tune to it and barely hear CC noise. I went up and down a few steps and I believe that is the exact freq.

Ive also found another one 764.51875. This one comes in alot better here. This one decodes with the Pro-197 and DSD+ as 2A0. I can also hear the CC noise on a Pro-106 but no decode.

You may have to go up and down a step or two to see if I have listed the right frequencies. Scanner is stopping on 764.515625 now but I think 764.51875 is the correct freq. Sometimes that happens.

I'm not up on the SDR, but imagine it's an image.
Especially if your Scanner is stopping on it, but won't Decode/Trunk

As previously mentioned that is not part of the Voice 700 Band.

There is a trunked site in Austin TX that uses broadband frequencies like that. Supposedly they checked and it's not an image. Maybe this one is real too.

Unitrunker will show the actual frequencies used on a P25 trunked system. Somebody should run that instead of DSD.

I have had images from the 800mhz Knoxville Trunked System in the 700mhz band. So I do know that the Pro-106/197 is prone to that.

Running Unitrunker was a good ideal. Unitrunker confirms it is an image from the Newport, Cocke Co (English Mtn) site. I guess it was a good thing since it is showing a voice channel thats not in the database. 771.20625 site 47. Where ya at Milf.
