Hi all new to this forum. We have just received 1 of 3 780 XLT's that are coming our way from another service. It is programed with some stuff but basically looking to use it in our area south simcoe county boardeing Peel and Duffrin. basically looking to use it for OPP and AMB any tips would be great. thanks

The 780's won't work for digital OPP because they're not digital scanners, unlike the subsequent 785D and 796D models. You'll still be able to monitor things like OPP vehicular repeater (VR) link frequencies, beat repeaters and media channels because they're analog.

The 780's will work fine for MOH ambulance (they're analog) and any other analog systems you want to monitor.

You can program the 780 manually but it's very tedious and will take time. If you can get ahold of software (ARC780?) that will make your life a LOT easier.

thanks is there a link or list to the channels I am looking for. We were looking to install one in each of our rescue trucks.

Check the RR databases for the areas you want to monitor. There are separate pages from Peel, York and Bell Fleetnet (the system MOH ambulances are on).

For OPP Vehicle Repeaters Ontario Provincial Police Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

For MOH EMS Repeaters Ministry of Health Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

They are conventional and analog.
