780 vs 796 sensitivity?

How is the sensitivity of the 796? When I went from the BC9000 to the 780, there was a noticable drop in recieving distant stations. At my last place, I wasn't able to really play with the 796 before I left to do a comparision. A friend at work here is thinking about picking one up.

I am most interested for Lowband and VHF than anything else.

has better sensitivity.
