BC780XLT: 780XLT Proscan help

I am trying to program my 780xlt with proscan and am having no luck.
Keeps telling me the scanner has to be communicating, how do I do that?
I know the software, computer and cable are all fine as I just used them to program my 785D
Port is correct, baudrate is correct but no communicating.
Any ideas?

Is the 780 in remote mode? Press the "E" key for 2 seconds. RMT should display when in remote mode.

You'll love how well it works with your 780. I have mine chugging away now listening to ORD and Chicago center. It runs all day for me.
