Hi,
My first time scanning the NYPD during the United Nations General assembly.
How does it all normally work in terms of scanning?
What frequencies are used?
Is it the same as a presidential visit for every world leader that visits?
And do there tend to be many protests

With the amount of preplanning involved, the various teams in play for a variety of "issues & situations", and the fact that Anything important will be encrypted, most if not all NYPD radio traffic will be the run of the mill

Even if it wasn't encrypted, what would you expect to hear?: "Run-of-the-mill" is an understatement.

The worst thing that happens is traffic gridlock in Manhattan. And even that's not too bad.

Listen to any of the CW’s. All ops are usually on that. It’s really not a lot and very boring. For a guy on patrol it can really suck.

All Secret Service and Diplomatic Security are encrypted as well as NYPD Intelligence. Various NYPD CW frequencies will be used during large scale movements and possible demonstrations.

OP, listen to the CWs, the local and nationwide federal channels, local and federal interop too.
