Hello, this is a follow up from last week. I have been told that the 796D will work on a P25 system. Have been trying numerous settings and still not there. I am not clear on how the base, offset, & spacing is determined. Here are the freqs I am working with: 139.9125, 151.070, 152.5175, 152.6525, 155.355. I have tried the base as 136.000 and spacing of 12.5 but can't determine the offset ( right now it is showing 380). If in ID scan, it will stop on data channel and show the scan lists, 1-0 (I have no TG's programmed). If I go to search ID it stops on data channel but shows nothing. If I switch to see talkgroup activity I can stop on the control channel and it will show the ID's but hear no audio. If i change to the next freq (not a control channel) I can hear the audio but no TG info is displayed. Does anyone have any thoughts on what to try or how those above freqs are determined? I am selecting # 5 type 2 / P25 / vhf but not sure if that is correct.
Thanks again for any help.

OK, Is this the system you are working on?

The Deerfield Site?

Sorry it's been a while since I had the X96D models.

I believe you have the right selection #5 because it is TypeII/P25, the slash indicating it is the selection for TypeII Motorola and P25 systems (VHF).

The database page shows a base of 138 for table "0", not 136.

Did you fill all three tables in the scanner?

796D & P 25 program help

Hello, yes that is the correct system. I did try the 136 change you noted. The plan shows 0, 1, 2, 3 but the scanner has 1 2 & 3. So should I use 1, 2 & 3 and skip 0 or use 0,1,2. Also do you know what the offset freq is? Currently shows 380 on all 3.
Thanks again

Not really an expert on P25 but I would go with 0, 1, 2.

Generally with trunk systems the higher tables are only needed if the site actually has enough voice channels added to need the higher frequencies. The Moto VHF system that I monitor only has two sites that need anything other than the first table, I always just left the other two blank since those sites are not in my area.

Will take some time to read but this thread may help.

Offset?? I don't know. I saw some posts in the thread about the 800 sites not needing any tables at all since the CC transmitted all the info neccessary. Don't know if/how that would apply to the VHF.

Somebody with more knowledge on P25 might answer your questions, just thought I would toss out ideas and maybe spark some responses.
