Did anyone hear on 7B were TROOPER 3 [I think] was lost & he had people helping him [think it was around 21:00]? I was thinking if maybe it would be possible for the closet ground station to send a truck out & the trapper follow it? Was thinking of calling ECC last night to suggest this, but I think engine 81 saw him [or truck 8] & talked him in to it. But I bet people were calling ECC to help the trapper, but thank God he got there to transport the person to the hospital.

What you probably heard was the aircrew having difficulty locating the accident site but I'm pretty sure they were not lost.
When we request a helicopter through SYSCOM, normally we simply get the coordinates of the accident location from a common ADC map. As SYSCOM dispatches the closest available Trooper (8 from Sandy Spring, 2 from Andrews, or 3 from Frederick in Montgomery County), they enter the ADC coordinates into the aircrafts navigational equipment which accurately directs them to the scene. Alot of time they are in the ballpark but need a little extra help locating the landing zone if the aircrew isn't familiar with the area. This is most likely what you heard.
