7CHP IF at North Sac CHP Office

I can confirm that the '7CHP IF' frequency (773.33125) is active at the North Sacramento CHP office, the site also has some fairly good coverage of the area around the office. The NAC is 7D3 and TGID is 1. I also caught a radio ID of 369559 as 46-MAZEEP1.

So last night I was at a crash on Antelope Road and CHP had an interceptor utility and a charger at the scene. I was getting a rebroadcast of the gold low band on both the VRS 1 and 7CHP IF frequency coming from the cars. I was also getting a signal from 7CHP IF with the antennas off my scanners at Pine Hill today. It seems they are doing some interesting things with this frequency right now.

Out of curiosity I went back to the location on Antelope Road to see if I could hear the 7CHP IF frequency and low and behold I could. I also drove around the Rio Linda and Elverta area and got rather good reception in those areas.

I am fairly sure it is transmitting from Pine Hill and it's possible it is also transmitting from the north Sacramento CHP office.

On my way to San Francisco today I was listening to this all the way on WB 80 till I hit reed ave in West sac. It was awesome to listen too. I hope we keep it for a little while

Looks like Radio Technician DC-12 was driving around Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Rancho Cordova, and how Avenue and Fair oaks doing Radio testing with CHP Sacramento Dispatch. now it’s back to re-broadcasting Gold 3 North Sac Radio traffic

On a somewhat related note, it appears 7CHP08 (773.78125) is re-transmitting the Turquoise from the Cordelia truck scales along I-80. NAC:7D2, TGID:1.

I scanned all my known CHP 700MHz frequencies (as well as a 700MHz spectrum search) the entire 10 days I was in Sacramento for vacation and the only new activity I found was what I noted here. It seems like they are actively building this network so new stuff could pop up at any time.

It appeared to be the normal VRS, likely coming from a car parked at the office.
