Hello forum. I would like to know how to trunk a system that uses both 800 and 400mhz freqs. The system uses 406mhz custom table but I can't hear the ones that use the 800mhz freqs. I have a Pro-96 scanner and the system is Eastern VA Regional, with Fort Lee and Hopewell,VA. Thank you in advance for helping.

Hi,

You will need to program the 400MHz system in one bank and the 800MHz system in a different bank.

Get Win96, it is a fantastic program and worth every penny of the regisration fee.

Enter the CC frequencies from the database into one bank and change the Rx Mode to Mot for each channel. Enter in your talk group ids and you should be ready to go.

Good Listening

See the original post.

It is a Motorola SmartZone system with sites in different bands. There are a few of these around. The other major one is the Washington DC system.

so some users are on UHF and some on 800?

Yes. In the case of the DC system, police are on 460 MHz while fire/EMS and other services are on 850 MHz. It's a great way to facilitate crossband interoperability and make use of available spectrum.

Getting back to the original post, "custom tables" only apply to systems outside of the 800 MHz and 900 MHz bands. As already indicated, each site must be programmed as a separate system in a separate bank in trunktracking scanners.
