Did anyone happen to catch the 8:30ish KRMG news cast Wednesday morning? They were reporting on the new $32 million homeland security grant the state was getting. The newscaster reported that the grant will pay for "building a state-wide 800 'megaBYTE' radio system." :lol:

State Homeland Security Office Announces Recipients Of Grants

(Oklahoma City, OK) -- The director of the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security Kerry Pettingill and Governor Brad Henry will be announcing tomorrow which local governments will be awarded a share of $32 million worth of grants. The funds are part of an award received from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office of Domestic Preparedness. The money will go towards three rather critical areas: Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention, State Homeland Security Programs and Citizen Corps Programs. The conference takes place in the State Capitol's Blue Room on the second floor at 2 p.m. As of this date, the OKOHS has been given more than $60 million from the Office of Domestic Preparedness. Just last year, local governments used most of that money for the purchase of equipment for emergency first responders.
