Hi all

I was wondering if there was a better 800 mhz antenna other than the radioshack 800 mhz antenna. I am still having problems with alot of static and background noise. I am in between cities. I was also wondering what is the best antenna to use indoors.

Thanks for any info

The EXE-806-BNX, which is what is shown on the scannermaster page is meant for 806-866MHz. The VHF/UHF performance will not be the greatest, but you will hear the real strong stuff on it. It is much better than the Radio Shack 800Mhz for sure.

FYI, I sell the same antenna for $25.50 ($4.45 less than scannermaster) by going to http://shop.waltel.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/467 . Centurion makes Antenex's handheld antennas for them, by the way.

Thanks,
Jeff

Just got my RS 800 in the mail. Instantly outperformed by brand new GRE. But am using the GRE 800 mHz on my Pro-83 now, and the RS 800 mHz on my Pro-95-- Picked up King County trunking from a long way off and out of sight. The GRE on -83 picks up the local 150-160 mHz just fine, of course better than the stock, but maybe not as good as my Pro-95 stock ducky on it..trying to go down to CB channels also. Haven't even went up the hill for the big 800 test yet though. Also, the GRE got here fast from Cali: 3 days, and the RS 7 days in the mail. Seems like the GRE would be great on a 96.

Little confusedby what you said, but are you saying that the GRE 800MHz worked better than the RS 800MHz? I have the RS but I am always looking for an improvement.

Meant to say RS 800 outperformed my GRE, (not by GRE);sorry. The RS seems to be better so far, but I did pick up some long distance 450-460 range stuff with the GRE one, a traffic helicopter up north.

Hmm its the other way around for me. My GRE made a noticeable difference over the RS.
