I post this FYI and am placing this here because of the deployment of Pa's Ma/Com system--In all fairness these issues can affect ALL 800 Mhz radio systems.
It's well know that 800 MHz public safety radio systems operate in the same "band" as cell phones. Although the exposure is not constant--a user is getting exposed to stronger bursts of RF, every time she/he presses the push to talk switch...Then there is the issue of portable operation---every time it's used a burst of RF goes directly into the brain and/or body depending on where the hand held radio is placed.

A union representing fire fighters and emergency medical personnel in the United States and Canada is seeking funding for research on the effects of RF radiation from cellular base stations.
The IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) takes the position that until the health effects of low-intensity RF and microwave radiation are known, no additional cell towers or antennas should be positioned on or near fire stations
