800 MHz rubber antenna?

when ordering,a drop down option box appears you can get a 800 MHz rubber antenna. is this better than standard antenna that comes with scanner? thanks

It is better for 800Mhz, and may be better for UHF-Hi, but it won't be better for VHF, since it's not optimized to that band.

I've found that the Diamond rubber duckie does nearly as well at pulling in 800Mhz frequencies as the dedicated 800MHz duckie. But the Diamond pulls in everything well, from VHF through 800MHz.

I would agree with Suzie on that one, if you monitor 800's it a great antenna. If you monitor other stuff such as VHF hi go with the Diamond its hard to beat.
