I just received my 800 MHz Rubber Ducky with SMA connector (no need for an adapter). When I put it on the Uniden SDS100, I don't receive my 800 MHz system (no signal). I've noticed the same thing when using the stock antenna from my BCD436HP. What am I missing?

I notice that my stock antenna for the SDS100 has an extra metal piece on the bottom that the stock antenna for my BCD436HP doesn't. This rubber ducky also doesn't have an extra piece on the end. This shouldn't matter since I use other antennas just fine. Is the pin not getting down far enough on this rubber ducky?

the flange is prob keeping it from making a connection.... thats why many users use the sma bnc adapter that comes with the radio and an aftermarket bnc antenna

Very few SMA antennas will screw on far enough to actually connect properly. There is no standard for how far the connector should stick out of the radio, so it's a crapshoot under the best of circumstances. BNC antennas only require an adapter that fits the radio.

No the BNC adapter shouldn't effect your signals. Although I just just bought a new precision grinder and polisher along with a micrometer so I can mod the antennas I already have to fit the SDS. I'll post pictures and instructions plus the antenna models I am using when I get around to it. I lost all of my tools in a flood last year and am slowly replacing them. Mr. Wienke is selling some really nice BNC adapters in the classified section I believe as well. They look a little more rugged than what came with the scanner.
