Can anyone tell me if the 800MHZ Antenna that Radio Shack sells for $19.99 is worth the extra money and will it make a difference on the PRO 106 Scanner? And is better then stock one the Scanner comes with?

Yes, yes, and yes. If you primarily monitor 800 Mhz and UHF it makes quite a difference in my opinion. It's not as good on VHF. I use it on radios with a BNC connection. I wish they made it in SMA too.

It's great on the 400 UHF and 800/900 bands. Worth every penny. You'll see.

I purchased one today for my pro 106. It works great. A lot clearer. Now just to figure out how to program the 106 for my area in Chesterfield Michigan.(Macomb County). I did put the control frequencies but I put other frequencies in there to so I am here all kinds of different entities. Hopefully I will get straighten out.

On the bottom it says P25:79B.
