Looking for help programming the 800mhz frequencies and talk groups I have for my home turf in sw Colorado. Just can't seem to follow the owners manual directions.
Also trying to figure out how to separate various users on a 155.870 frequency.

Re the 155.87 - since the 245 doesn't do PL of any kind, I doubt that you can separate them

On the trunking, please, more specifics, please - exactly WHAT in SW Colorado are you trying to program? Our database is pretty good - and there is a wiki on programming trunking for the 245 (it's really simple) here...

The BC245 Trunking FAQ - The RadioReference Wiki

I used to own a 245...

I have the the various San Miguel County frequencies input into bank 8 for example, but can never get to the next step to input talk groups. After entering the frequencies and hit SEARCH it goes to scan and I never get any traffic not even the control channel static. I will re-read again and again the link you sent me. Can I input all the frequencies for two local towers in order into bank 8 for example or must I only do the several frequencies for one tower at a time?
I'm just a scanner hobbiest eavesdropper so I need dumbed down answers. What is PL for 155.87?
Sounds like the 245 may have limitations?

If you read the article, you know that you cannot put more than one trunk system in a bank. And yes, the 245, being a 20 plus year old scanner, has several limitations, not the least of which is the fact that it doesn't support PL or DCS - and here's the glossary entries for these terms, in case you don't understand what that means...

Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System - The RadioReference Wiki

(PL is a Motorola term for Private Line - what we know as the much longer moniker of CTCSS)

DCS - The RadioReference Wiki

This is our database for San Miguel County Colorado

San Miguel County, Colorado (CO) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

These frequencies are not trunked; they are conventional in nature. And you cannot receive the Colorado DTRS on a 245 - this requires a digital trunktracker, such as the 396T, 396XT, 996T, 996XT or Home Patrol (Unidens). The Mountain Village system cannot be trunked at all with any scanner, but you could listen to the system by programming their frequencies as you would any conventional frequency

153.995 help

So the main reason I wanted to program the 800 freqs is that the main San Miguel County Sheriff channel of "Greyhead" on 153.995 is having very intermittent bursts of static and maybe digital bursts that my 245 will stop on while scanning. That was my primary scan channel but it is now too annoying to listen to. I can pick up half the traffic on 158.945 and then go to 153.995 to hear rest of traffic.
Any solution to this noise?

153.995 help

On my 245xlt my primary channel for San Miguel County Sheriff has recently (last 4 months) developed some very random static/digital noise. The sheriff still uses this channel but my scanner keeps stopping on this annoying static and I don't hear any traffic that they hear the static. Any help?

One possibility is that the sheriff is beginning to fool around with digital (maybe P25 or encryption). Someone in the Colorado forum may know better - just click on the blue text. Or is the squelch set too low?
