8200 Scope Usage ?s

I've had an 8200 Mk3 for a while now and I really like it.

I'm interested in using the scope option to ferret out new (to me) frequencies in use. Has anyone ever used this option for that purpose? If so, what kind of success have you had? Do you have any tips for using the scope option to find new frequencies in use?

What else can one use the scope option for?

I'm using mine for skip activity monitoring during the band openings the last few days.
You can also park on a frequency and look for activity in the same band on nearby frequencies.
