I'm looking for recommendations for a decent base antenna in the 845-865 Mhz range. Antenna will go on a 3 story building... not sure on how it will be mounted yet, I'd guess either attached to the side of the building at the roofline, or on a short pole mount. Will feed LMR400 from there down to the receiver, which should only be 10-20 feet.

Could you connect two scanners to one of the antennas with a splitter or would you buy an individual for each scanner?

Either way would work fine. With individual antennas you probably would have less loss since a splitter would divide the signal up between the two scanners while two seperate antennas would feed the full signal to each.

See this sticky (http://forums.radioreference.com/passive-devices/105054-using-one-antenna-multiple-scanners.html) for specifics on multiple scanners using one antenna.
