two nights ago, the skip was really good, and coming in strong from the west... keep in mind that i live just south of madoc... when i was searching around the bands on my uniden bcd396t, and a motorola control channel was coming in 1 bar. i didn't recieve any id's while on one-freq trunk. does anybody know what this frequency belongs to?
Keep in this was skip. this was not local

That CC belongs to SysID 5617 operating from Brockville.
There is another site with same SysID out of Cornwall. For
some reason both have up and disappeared from the database.
Unless intentionally deleted, someone may want to look into
why active systems like this (amd maybe others) are no longer
there.

thanks for the info. i live around madoc and i've never recieved skip from brockville or east. if i did, do you know what or who this frequency belongs to? The SYSID that you have given looks familiar to what came up on my scanner

christie and walthier uses different frequencies. furthermore this motorola system was coming in from the west.

OK....so which frequencies was/is it using? You said the SysID
sounded familiar.

Just because "skip" seems to be coming from the west doesn't mean
that's the only direction. I've had cases of enhanced propogation from
two opposite directions at once.

There is nothing in TAFL that makes sense other than the C&W
control channel, and nothing in the RR database nearby. Next time
try to get the SysID for sure, that will go a long way.

i will post the sys id of the CC the next time the skip comes in. its supposed to get hot and sticky around here late this week, so hopefully it will come in.

I'm still waiting for the DB record to be restored from backup after
its disappearance (for no apparent reason). The CC for the other
System 5617 site in Cornwall on 862.6125 has been heard a few
times, so that one is still active. No TG activity was logged early
in the morning so it may not be very active, given the short period
I could receive it.

ya same here it often comes in early morning, but one frequency trunk doesn't grab any id's
