Last year, I added some new 800 MHz frequencies from the ISED database into my radio. One of those was 866.25 assigned to the St. Catharines Fire Dept. and marked on the station licence as Regional Fire Tac 2.
Several months ago, this frequency became active with P25 simulcasts of fire comms from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Thorold, Welland, Port Colborne and Fort Erie. So you can hear most of the fire activity on one single channel. The TG is 1 for everything. NAC is 639.
Audio quality is not the greatest (somewhat compressed), but has improved recently. To add a wrinkle to this, during the past week it has also started to simulcast 140.955 - the OPP tow truck callout channel (officially known as the OPP "Road Information Service").
866.25 is not listed in the RR database. It might be another option for those in the area without Phase 2 scanners.
