The bikers are coming back
As many as 75,000 bikers are expected to visit Loveland this weekend for the second annual Thunder in the Rockies Motorcycle rally — 15,000 more than attended the first year of the rally at The Ranch.
Organizers scheduled an array of events Friday through Monday at the county events center, with scenic rides planned throughout Northern Colorado. The entrance fee is $10 per day or $15 for the entire weekend, which provides access to a diverse mix of entertainment.
DeeDee Smidt, campuswide events manager at The Ranch, attributes the anticipated increase in attendance to three factors: More people know about the rally in its second year; no serious crimes or traffic problems occurred last year; and organizers have focused on more national advertising to draw out-of-staters to Loveland.
Last year, the rally did not bring in as much money as anticipated.

That figure depends on ticket sales and attendance, which could fluctuate depending on weather and other factors, he said.
