867.2 Hanging Up

Has anyone else had a problem with CSP hanging up on 867.2 in Fairfield County? I know that the general topic was discussed several weeks ago but there have not been any recent posts so I don't know if this situation is peculiar to me. All of my Unidens,(785D, 796D and the new 396) exhibit this problem and it's becoming very frustrating. I've tried backing squelch down all the way but it hasn't helped. Any thoughts?

To Me It Is Mother Nature Laying Down The Law. Can't Do Sh*T About It :wink: Have Had The Hang Up Prob Up This Way In Htfd County With Some CSP Freqs, It Is A Matter Of Just Waiting Out Mamma Nature :roll: Some CSP Freqs Have Hung Up Recently After Going away, But I Notice That When They Hang Up, That's Where The Weather Gets Hot With No Precipitation. Atmospheric Prob In One's Opinion.

it could be mother nature or maybe loose transmitter cabinets.
if the transmitters are not compleatly shielded, this might be the culprit as the transmitterwill leak.
funny thing about this is that all of a sudden these signals show up right before nextel and the state have to come to an agreement for the 800
mhz refarming. and it varies form area to area and sometimes goes away and never comes back!

i dont even the shadow would have an answer for this mystery!

I can accept atmospheric conditions or some technical reason for this but why doesn't it bother the CSP radios? Wouldn't they also hang up on the offending frequency? Maybe the software in the Motorola radios immediately dumps a frequency after it's used to go back to the control frequency while Uniden software waits for the frequency to drop carrier before returning.

Mine has started again but not quite as bad as a month ago. For me it is 866.4375. Just wait it out.

maybe someone should take a ride out of the state and see if it goes away.

i night if i can get a 396 to test- just waiting for it.
