What in the world did President Bush have to do with these tapes.

It was the City of New York that held them up for what they felt were good reasons, trying to protect the dead and families. The court did let the city cut out parts of the tapes.

The tapes are very interesting.

I'm with Buckskinner33- many of the comms are pretty poor. These are supposed to be the master dispatch tapes so should show what dispatch heard that day.

I am a bit confused as to how the FDNY radio dispatch is set up. On Tape 1, Citywide seems to be all EMS related- referring to the disaster as the MCI (Multi Casualty Incident) and reporting transporting patients to the hospital.

"Car 6-Adam", who establishes clear incident command on Tape 1 (he most likely ended up a casualty himself as he stated he was at the command post in the lobby of Tower 2...) did a good, calm job of getting things organized.

Where Did you find that? Also did they change dispatchers on the #2 disk? Her audio or tone is a lot more easier to understand.

Seems like Disk 2 is just a continuation of Disk 1. She is easier to understand. Not sure where I found the info on FDNY Cars- just searching the net...

I got to give the Citywide Dispatcher credit... She seems to be holding up well. I would like to know who she is. She did what she had to do and she did well under the circumstances.

As I start to get into the end of the 3rd disk the communication seems to be getting a lot clearer & understandable. I believ that in the begining most of the "Walking on" and bad audio was contributed to human error. There is how ever an annoying whistling when city wide dispatch keys up and carries thru untill she is done talking.

Is there any techs who is familiar with the Motorola Hybrids able to tell us what contributes to that?
