900/2.5 GHz headsets

Well I’ve got another one, I’m always attracted to what I can’t listen to, today it is the restaurant headsets, usually 900 MHz or 2.5 GHz FHSS license free.. how interoperable are these? Anyone had any luck using any other FHSS device to monitor these or trying to get a headset and listen? I’ve seen some charts of simplex frequencies but didn’t know if anyone has tested these, thanks for any info

If they are FHSS, nothing in the consumer sector can effectively scan them.

Don't rely on them being compatible across bands. While some may be, there's no standards that setup how often they hop, which frequencies they hop to, etc.

And most manufacturers want to lock you into their brand, so "interoperability" gets pretty rare unless it's a mandate.

SDRs are pretty consumer at this point from a radio hobbyist perspective and it's not hard to get one that can monitor all 26 MHz of the 900 ISM band at once. I do it though for monitoring utilities and the occasional HAME transmissions instead.
