That's outside any valid band. Are you sure you're not getting overload?

What type of radio are you monitoring this on? If a scanner, can you detect the WACN/SID with the analysis tool(s)?

Toronto P25 Backup?

I was listening in the 956's mhz and i noticed i picked up control channels for the toronto p25 system.

so i made it as a site in my scanner and it points to voice channels in the proper frequencies.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Toronto Fire has a 952 MHz frequency licensed which is silent, but broadcast media seems to own the 956's.

I'm everywhere Focker!
Try looking in the 700 MHz band for a corresponding frequency. My GRE-based scanners receive 700 stuff in the 950 range.

That's why I was asking about the make/model. GRE radios are legendary for images and such in that neighborhood. They masked off the upper end of the 700 band (top end of the input side) because they couldn't make images from the 800 band go away.

If you look into those a little deeper through the Virtual License tool, they're part of the station alerting system - likely the data side of things, triggering loudspeakers and alarms.
