I haven't been able to find in the manual about when this light is used. I have tried different alerts on my 996 but this never illuminates. Does anyone know when it is used? Thanks

You can set location alerts so when you roam around and have the GPS attached, it will alert you or it will alert on CC when something is found.

Hello,

The ALERT LED will illuminate after a WX Alert, or if using GPS, Dangerous XING or Road, if you exceed Speed Limit setting, and are within 1/2 mile of coordinates.

Boy do I feel stupid. Thanks guys. I hadn't tested the GPS or Close Call features yet. I did have a chance to try the WX alert, but don't recall the light going on. I probably wasn't paying attention. But I see it working now and that answers the question. Thanks very much again.
