• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Wondering since the 396t doesnt have Indiana listed in its pre programming menu. Can anyone advise what systems are pre programmed in the 996t?

Thanks

Only the Safe-T system is programmed and it is not 100% accurate. Also, it is programmed is as a multi-site system. That is great (assume everything was 100% correct) if you are using a GPS.

However if you have no GPS, then all sites are scanned. So you might be in Bloomington which also might be on the same freqency as Ft.Wayne and the scanner will stop on Ft. Wayne and be somewhat confusing if you ask me.

I personally redid the system to fit my own needs. (The BuTel software for the 996T makes programming a snap.)

The inaccuracies are small changes that have taken place since they downloaded the data and today. Of course RR is much more up to date. ;)
