I asked on the Yahoo 996 site if I could revert back to V1 firmware on my 996 but nobody answered me.
I liked hearing LTR data burst breaking the squelch but now I can't search for LTR sites any more because in the search mode the scanner justs skips over them. I don't just sit and listen to voice, I like to search for new systems and squelch and data trails (?) don't bother me, neither is P25 decoding. I need to know where the correct files, if available, to get me back to V1. I have the following file, BCD996T_V1_04_12.zip. Does it need a specific loader and inputs to work? Any help would be helpful.

hardfacer: That is not a link to firmware
Mil: Just apply the V1 update w/o using a registration key. (Note: This will not work for the BCD396T.)

Thanks Upman, I knew hardfacer's file was the computer interface file. I'll try the update w/o the reg key, thanks.

I got my ver back to V1, thanks Upman. I had to change my glasses, I wasn't reading the small print about
holding the L/O and 6 keys down while powering up. Trifocals are all right but I need dedicated monitor lenses I think.
