I have been using the 396xt/996xt for many years, no issues. I just added the 996P2 to monitor Phase II and it seems that it not only scans slower, but doesn't received VHF all that well. My 996xt picks up VHF all day long no issue, while also having a Phase 1 system in the same Quick Key, where as the 996P2 never seems to ever pick up the VHF channels, only the 7-800 channels.

They are using the same ARC XT file, with the exception of Phase 2 in the 996P2, replacing the now defunct 800 system.

Anyone else notice this issue?

Did you download/install the latest firmware update for the 996P2? If not, it will make a big difference!

Most everyone here does not see that my setup has several 15x's sever 996p2's several 536's and sds200 sharing the same antenna at the same time and all of my scanners see the same traffic at the sametime.
Are you sharing the same antenna at the same time?

Nope, all separate and identical antenna.

It picks up UHF no problem

The slower scan rate may be due to your receiving a new P2 trunked system with multiple sites. Reduce the sites you are receiving to the strongest site only. That should help increase scanning speed some. Your loss of signal is perplexing however... when you have no problems with the older “xt” model.
