996P2 backlight discoloration

I have a BCD996P2 that is faithful and hardworking, but I have noticed the display backlight has become more and more discolored lately. The white is now kind of a yellowish color. I run it on white, and this is rather annoying.

Is there an easy fix for this or does it need to go to Uniden?
