Hello,

My daughter played with my 996p2, now I have a custom search 9 that keeps popping up during the scanning operation, I know it needs to be locked out or turned off, but I cannot get it to. suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Cool!

Tell your daughter to get her own scanner!

One other question, I can get it to lock out, but every time I restart the scanner, they pop back up, I go to function, select custom 9, hit the l/o button and it says temporary L/O it locks it out, even if I hit enter after temporary L/O and then E, it will come back after i restart the scanner,

i guess you did not read my personal message then.
if you hit lockout once or too slowly it is a temporary lockout, you have to do it twice quickly or is comes back after a power cycle. look at the top of the page a the inbox.

Like wtp says, you have to hit lockout TWICE QUICKLY to permanently lockout a channel.

From the manual:

Locking/Unlocking ChannelsContents

There are several ways to get to a channel. Some ways are quicker than others. Some ways you have to be quick with those keys, other ways you can take your time pressing them. Use what works best for you.

To Lock Out a Channel while Scanningquickly pressL/O when the channel appears in the display to toggle 'Unlocked', 'Temporary L/O', or 'Lockout'. (You have to be quick to get 'Lockout').

Note: 'Temporary Lockout' means unlocked the next time you cycle power the channel will be unlocked.

Or, quickly press Hold to hold on the channel. Press L/O to toggle 'Unlocked', 'Temporary L/O', or 'Lockout'. (You still have to be quick to get 'Lockout').
