BCD325P2/BCD996P2: 996p2 & external speaker

I recently set up a 996p2 scanner at work and need to put 1 adjustable speaker with volume knob at position. Couple questions ::

1) best speaker with volume knob?

2) best speaker cable to split and run between speakers to keep audio the same to each position?

3) best way to connect the speakers individually to the audio out port on the scanner?

Get a cheap audio mixer, then use speakers with built in amplifiers. That way you can have each area set their preferred audio level.

Do not split speaker lead, as that can load down the scanner's audio amplifier.
