After making the required cable, would it be possible to use a 396T and clone the info. into a 996T?

The various online resources are a bit vague on the topic.

Thanks!

As far as I can tell cloning is always between like radios. I have used Butel programs to copy and paste to move information from the old radio to the new.

The 396 and 996 will not clone either direction. Just enough difference that it won't work.

If you are using the Uniden UASD software, however, you can share files. You have to change the default file path so they both use the same folder. This can save you lots of time when you make changes and updates.

Do all your editing with the 996 software. If you save a file from the 396 software, you will lose the fancy differences the 996 file has, like multiple sites, etc.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping they were similar enough to save me some serious programming time...

Anyways, I'm going to explore some of the programs available...

Thanks!
