Anyone try feeding TAG info using the 996T rear DB9 port?

I bought a cable to use the rear port, set the rear port BAUD rate but no software will recognize the scanner that way. ScannerCast says NOPE and so does ARC 996 and FREEScan. Are there any other settings for the 996T to use that port? I even tried turning the front port OFF.

The rear port is intended to be used with a GPS device. When using it as a computer data link you need to use a null-modem cable.

Something to keep in mind; you cannot load any firmware changes using the rear port. They all must be loaded using the front port.

I am aware of the firmware having to use the front port. I went to Computers Plus to get a F-F DB9 null modem cable, but they only had M-M. They ended up giving me a M-M DB9 cable with 2 gender changers. Thought about just getting a NULL Modem adapter, but all they had were DB25. Anyway, I hook it up and the TAGS are feeding properly to RR. Thanks for the assistance.
