996t mobile users question

I am thinking of picking up the 996 before the end of the year and I am wondering one thing. How well does this unit go in and out of the DIN sleeve? Anyone slide one in and out frequently (insert man-joke here). I primarily want this for home use, but want to be able to throw it in the car when I go for long drives and thought if I just left the slot open I could do this. Eventually I want to get a second one, and I won't have this dilemma. But until the money tree blooms, I can get only one...Thanks

I bought mine 3 weeks ago and I use mine both at work (Truck Driver) and at home.I just cant seem to leave it in the truck over night. I am using the Din sleeve for a JVC radio so that it dont lock into place so I dont have to worry about losing the tools .

You would still have to disconnect the antenna and power cables though. You could get 2 CB style slide mounts for the car and house, and move it from place to place with ease..

Of course, the DIN sleeve wouldn't be used at all with that arrangement.
