I can not seem to find how to set the Manual p25 setting on the 996T. I know there on here somewhere. I want to tweak the P25 since it sounds garbled even after the last firmware update. I'm trying to remember which firmware was in it when I got it. I think it was 2.? is there away to go back to it?

Here is the page that helped me the most. I don't have a 996 but it is very similar on my 396.

MANUAL - Means you control it all - Hold Func and press the scroll knob twice to get the screen. Adjust the setting with the knob until you get the best result for any given SYSTEM. The radio will remember this setting for that System and use it every time it has to decode digital audio.

I tried this and it does nothing but keep changing the color of the screen. I see where you can change the ssytem to manual but can not figure out how to change the values.

Ddan I tried the link you gave and still can't find how to get in and change the values.

I think everything will tell you to set this to AUTO not manual. What you are attempting to do is to set an optimum setting for AUTO to start with so it will settle in quicker. Try using this link and see if it helps any. I did this on my 396 and it didn't have a very big effect on the systems I listen to. The settings I got from this procedure were very close to the defaults.

Once you get to the screen showing the MAN setting, release the Function button, then press it again, and turn the knob to adjust. (That's the way on the 396, anyway.)
