996t update help

hello i have the 996t it has original 1.02.01 firmware. i just got my cable and am trying to update i can unzip and install the bcvupv2007. however i cannot with the v1 04 12 it says not a supported file type or may be damaged. please any help on this. i have tried and tried and it will not let me install v10412. is there something i need to do first, like i said this is original firmware. please help thank you
