Hi. I am working on loading a bunch of information from Freescan into my 996XT. During the upload process I am receiving a lot of errors. The errors state something to the effect of "insufficient memory" or "unable to write". I am wondering if this has to do with my Com port speed.

I am using the serial port to the scanner, and when I do the Auto Detect using Freescan, it sets the speed at its highest setting 115200. I would like to try a slower speed setting to see if this reduces the errors, but Freescan will not run a test or connect at a lower speed. Any ideas on how I can reduce the speed to hopefully reduce the error rate?

Oh, I'm also using Windows Vista.

Thanks!

It sounds like you are running out of memory on your scanner, thus getting out of memory errors. You might also be exceeding the 500TGID/system limit. For the baud rate, you need to tell the scanner to go to a lower rate as it needs to be at the same speed as FreeSCAN. The instructions that come with the scanner explain how to do that.
