996XT Programming Problem

Im trying to upload data into my 996xt. The software keeps saying that it doesnt detect a scanner connected. I know the cable works because I use it for my 396xt also. The serial port and baud rate settings are also correct. i use the blutel software. Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on here?

Double check the Com port in the ARC software and the Com port in Device Manager and make sure they
are the same. Sometimes things change for no apparent reason.
Is the cable recognized in Device Manager ?

I assume you are using the front Serial Port. Also double check that with the software speed.
